Breast Lift

Introduction

For many women the size, shape, or contour of their breasts does not fit their self image. Women experience increased breast skin laxity, drooping (ptotic) breasts, and loss of upper breast fullness following pregnancy and breast feeding, with aging and the force of gravity, or after significant weight loss. A breast lift (mastopexy) is a surgical procedure designed to elevate and reshape the breast to produce a youthful appearance. The major focus of a breast lift is to lift the nipple-areolar complex and centralize it over the breast mound, reduce the size of the areola, and shape the breast by reducing and tightening the breast skin envelope with…Read More >>

PATIENT 40 - Breast Lift with Augmentation

This 42 yo woman, 5’2"tall, weight 100 pounds was unhappy with the loss of breast fullness and progressive drooping which occurred following her pregnancies, and then worsened following some weight loss several years later. Pre-operative breast size was a B-cup. Examination demonstrated moderate breast skin laxity and significant volume loss without ptosis. Eleven week post-operative photographs show the results following a bilateral dual plane-one, sub-pectoral breast augmentation with Mentor Lumera textured, contoured, high profile (305cc) silicone gel implants [per Adjunct study protocol] and a Wise-pattern breast lift. Post-operative bra size is a full C-cup.

PATIENT 41 - Breast Augmentation with Lift

This 40 yo woman, 5’8” tall, weight 145 pounds, wore a 36C-cup bra prior to having children and liked the fullness of her breasts; following her pregnancies she wore an A-cup. She desired a natural sized augmentation and lift with minimal scarring. Examination showed a loss of breast volume with a lax skin envelope, but no true ptosis. Six month post-operative photographs show the results of a bilateral sub-pectoral, dual plane-one breast augmentation with McGhan style 68 smooth, round, moderate profile (300cc) implants filled to 350cc. A bilateral circumareolar mastopexy was performed to restore nipple-areolar complex position. Post-operative bra size is 36C-cup.

PATIENT 42 - Breast Lift

This 32yo woman, 5’5” tall, weight 137 pounds, was very unhappy with the “sagging” appearance of her breasts after breast feeding two children, and experiencing a 65-pound weight loss with diet and exercise. Her pre-operative bra size was a 34B-cup. Examination showed a lax breast skin envelope and grade III ptosis with the nipple positioned 4.5cm below the inframammary fold. Four week post-operative photographs show the results of a Wise-pattern breast lift. The mastopexy incisions still appear pink, but this color will fade over the following months.

PATIENT 43 - Breast Lift with small reduction

45 yo woman, 5’4"tall, weight 132 pounds with two children who desired primarily a breast lift with a small reduction in size. Her pre-operative breast size was a D-cup. Exam showed grade II ptosis with mild breast and moderate areolar hypertrophy. Six week post-operative photographs show the results of a bilateral vertical breast lift with resection of 154gr of breast tissue from the right breast, and resection of 179gr of breast tissue form the left breast. Post-operative bra size is a C-cup.
